Not to be daunted or discouraged by my 10th grade English teacher who informed me that I could not write, I have always enjoyed the art of turning words into a story. Whether I am writing technical and business articles for industry journals, heath and fitness related articles for magazines, "spotlight" articles for industry newsletters, interviews and sports-related write-ups, or humorous accounts of just trying to stay in shape (check out my "Sweaty She Mondays" column), I relish the creative experience that writing affords. Plus some of the stories are so dang funny and in many cases, I couldn't possibly make this stuff up!

For 10 years I developed technical exams and managed certification offerings for the IBM Certification Program for Tivoli Software. In that time I became a nationally known industry expert and presented at conferences and wrote articles for many publications. Below is some of my work in the certification field.
One of the many things I learned in this time is that coaching and certification have two very strong elements in common - both involve the art and science of objectively measuring human knowledge/ability and identifying ways to bridge the gap between current skills and desired skills.
